New Paintings by Brian Chippendale

Feb 11, 2016 - Flat Earths New work by Brian Chippendale created as the resident artist at Kahnaway in early 2016. The work is a series of collages on wood using painting, drawing and found imagery. Despite being known as a silkscreen focused printmaker there are no silkscreens involved in any of the works. Opening night is Thursday, Feb 11th from 6-9PM at Place Gallery, 1905 NW 23rd Place, Portland, OR 97210 The show will be open for two more days on the 12th and 13th from 1-6pm and can be seen by appointment until the 18th of February, 2016.

Kahnaway at FOCG Picnic

July 19th, 2015 - Friends of the Columbia Gorge Annual Picnic We'll again be hosting an art and ecology table at the annual picnic of the Friends of the Columbia Gorge, local advocacy group and true guardians of the National Scenic Area. Like last year this event will be held at its new location, an established oak stand which I've been restoring along with some help from the Friends.

June 3rd-5th, and the 11th & 12th, 2015 - Clausen Youth Program Washougal Sixth Grade outdoor school is coming up again! We'll probably continue with more leaf rubbings of the local flora, it's such a great and fun way for the kids to learn about their region and its eco-system.

The sixth graders from both Jemtegaard and Canyon Creek continue to impress me year after year, they've been energetic, curious, and quick to learn.

Kahnaway Founders Nell and Greg present an installation using repurposed material and waste paint to create paint machines and incidental works in Eastern Oregon
